Click Energy have announced they are increasing prices for electricity customers in Northern Ireland by 9% from 1st September 2021.
This means all electricity suppliers have now increased prices this year, with some suppliers increasing prices twice. And although wholesale prices remain high which has resulted in suppliers pushing up prices this latest increase will be unwelcome news for customers.
What does the price increase mean for customers?
The price change will come into effect from 1st September and will mean the typical bill paying customer will pay an extra £55 per year, while customers with a keypad (PAYG) meter will see a yearly increase of about £56 per year
The price increase applies to the tariff unit rate only. The daily standing charge applied by Click Energy will not change. A standing charge is a fixed amount added on top of your tariff rate to cover an energy supplier’s fixed costs – to pay for supplying your house with power.
