firmus energy drops prices for natural gas customers in Greater Belfast Network

firmus energy customers in the Greater Belfast Network have received welcome news with a price drop on the cost of natural gas.

The gas supplier will be reducing tariffs for domestic customers by 8.5% from 1st November 2025.

Announcing this reduction, firmus energy’s Sales Director Ryan Miskimmin said savings are being passed on to customers whenever possible.

“This reduction will put money back into the pockets of thousands of customers,”

“As we head into the colder months, we know that these significant savings, coupled with the constant heat and instant hot water that natural gas provides, will be welcomed by customers in the Greater Belfast Network area.”

What does this mean for firmus energy customers?

This latest reduction comes on the back of previous price decreases in 2023 and 2024 so households will be relieved to see costs continuing to come down after record highs from a few years ago. However, energy prices are still well above pre-pandemic levels

firmus energy has around 42,000 customers in the Greater Belfast network.

As a result of this price decrease it will mean, on average, the annual gas bill for a credit (bill pay) customer will fall by around £109, and the annual bill for a prepayment gas customer (PAYG) will fall by around £107 per year.

[This follows a tariff decrease of 7.86% from firmus energy for their customers in the (regulated) ten town gas network].

I’m a firmus energy customer…what network am I in?

Northern Ireland is broken into three separate gas networks – these are the Greater Belfast area, the Ten Towns area and the West network area. Each is distinct and will have different suppliers, cost and tariff options.
