How the saving is calculated
Savings are calculated by comparing the consumer’s existing electricity tariff with the
tariff selected through the Power to Switch comparison.
Consumers enter their current supplier and annual electricity usage. The site
compares tariffs from licensed Northern Ireland suppliers and displays available
options. If a user chooses to switch, they complete an online form and the selected
supplier manages the transfer.
The saving shown is the predicted annual difference between the consumer’s
existing tariff and the new tariff selected at the point of switching.
This is not retrospective billing data after switching, but predicted savings based on
customer-entered annual consumption.

The switches included in this dataset were completed across licensed Northern
Ireland electricity suppliers, including:
